The opening of Ukiyoe Immersive Art Exhibition AOMORI has been confirmed.
Ukiyoe Immersive Art Exhibition is an experiential digital art museum that brings together more than 300 works by world-renowned ukiyo-e artists such as Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, Utagawa Hiroshige, Kitagawa Utamaro, Toshusai Sharaku, and Utagawa Kunisada. Through the use of 3DCG animation and projection mapping, these works are reimagined as visually rich digital art pieces that can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages, allowing them to immerse themselves in the world of ukiyo-e within three-dimensional visual spaces.
Photography and video recording are permitted throughout the venue, enabling visitors to step into and capture the fantastical world of ukiyo-e.
The exhibition has previously been held in Nagoya, Milan (Italy), Kagoshima, Tokyo, Taipei, Fukuoka, and Osaka, attracting more than 350,000 visitors in total.

[Exhibition Description]
Based on more than 300 works by world-renowned ukiyo-e artists including Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, Utagawa Hiroshige, Kitagawa Utamaro, Toshusai Sharaku, and Utagawa Kunisada, this immersive digital art museum uses 3DCG animation and projection mapping to create visually engaging digital artworks for visitors of all ages. Across multiple three-dimensional visual spaces, guests can fully immerse themselves in the world of ukiyo-e. In addition to digital installations, the exhibition also features famous ukiyo-e prints originally produced during the Edo period, as well as reproduced editions, offering insights into the history of ukiyo-e, Edo-period culture, and the artists themselves.
The exhibition not only delves deeply into the artistic value of ukiyo-e, but also presents easy-to-understand explanations of Edo-era lifestyles, leisure, and culture.
